2016 Travel Review

Well, 2016 is nearly complete and this was my best year ever using points and miles.

Since January, my wife and I used several hundred thousand points and miles to visit San Francisco and Napa, Cancun, Chicago, and New York.

San Francisco and Napa

San Francisco and Napa were amazing cities. We had some of the best food of our lives in both cities, but bring your wallet, it’s not cheap. The views from Grand Hyatt San Francisco were amazing and the location of Andaz Napa were perfect. We will be back. Maybe 2017? Who knows.

Hyatt Ziva Cancun All Inclusive

Hyatt Ziva Cancun

Hands down the best All Inclusive I’ve been to is the Hyatt Ziva Cancun in Cancun, Mexico. At 25,000 points per night for double occupancy, I believe it was worth the points. This resort had the best foods and service than any all-inclusive I’ve been to. There are plenty of water activities, restaurants, and bars to lounge at. Not to mention, the two beaches only Hyatt Ziva Cancun can deliver.

I loved Chicago. The city is a great walking city, with plenty of places to dine or relax. I was there for a wedding so I definitely will be back and experience the city a bit more.

New York

New York, New York. The city so nice, had to name it twice. We are definitely going back to New York. We went with some friends during Thanksgiving and Macy’s Day parade. We ate some great pizza, walked a lot, saw the famous sites, and stayed busy. I want to go back during the warmer months and experience it again. Also, I got to stay at the Park Hyatt New York which was amazing and the best hotel property I’ve stayed at to date.

As 2017 approach I plan on making next year to best year ever for the Obsessed Points Nerd. We plan on visiting Italy late in the year and experiencing Singapore Airlines Business Class. Also, we will have a layover at Istanbul’s Ataturk Airport. Not to mention, there will be several shorter trips throughout the year as I visit Toronto for the first time and the Caribbean again.

Happy 2017 everyone!!
